At the foundation of every healthy dog is a healthy gut. Our Digestive Recipe starts there — featuring organic beef as its primary proteins in a highly digestible base of moderate protein, moderate fat, and high-quality complex carbohydrates that won't stress an already-sensitive system.

This formula has been well balanced and can be used for as long as the pet needs it. Ideally, you will be able to start transitioning to a regular recipe or adding in new foods very slowly within a month of starting the digestive formula.
The Kidney Recipe

Kidney disease is one of the most common diagnoses in aging dogs — and one of the areas where nutrition can make the most meaningful difference. The Shine Kidney Support Recipe was developed to support dogs in the early stages of kidney disease, addressing the specific dietary demands that the condition creates.
Formulated to be low in phosphorus and moderate in protein, the recipe's primary proteins are beef, chicken breast, and egg whites — carefully selected for digestibility and controlled mineral content. We increased the vegetable percentage and built a blend that prioritizes B vitamins and arginine, both of which support kidney function at a cellular level.
Perhaps most distinctively, we use barley as our grain — a choice informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine, where barley is valued for its ability to reduce excess "dampness" and support the Yin aspect of the body. In kidney disease, this Yin deficiency is often a central imbalance. Food, here, is genuinely medicine.

This isn't a crash diet. It's a carefully engineered metabolic reset, supported by herbs and select ingredients chosen to nudge the body toward renewal.
The combination of low carbohydrates, targeted vegetables, and metabolically active herbs works to support weight management, bolster immune function, and provide nutritional scaffolding for dogs undergoing treatment for cancer. Because the gut is where healing begins, we've built this recipe to work from the inside out — supporting the microbiome as it asks the metabolism to shift.

Depending on the condition your pet is experiencing, we expect to start seeing results for obesity issues, and kidney value elevations within 3-4 weeks. For diarrhea or gastrointestinal upset we generally expect improvement in 5-7 days.
